It's Happening............

New Patterns - are finally here!

One can only wonder why a quilt called Spring Bloomers doesn't have pieced and/or appliqued flowers in it.....but  that's not what this fun quilt is all about.  You'll have to read the story to find out
why it's named what it is.  PPL096 SPRING BLOOMERS can now be found on the website on the pattern page.

A favorite time of year for me, FALL, means harvest and a social event that usually takes place.
PPL097 HARVEST SOCIAL can also be found on the website.   Use up those scraps we all have the need to save forever.......here's your chance to put a hurtin' on them.

The latest newsletter went out this week and for those of you not on the email list here's some fun stuff you might want to be included in.

In the Primitive Quilts and Projects Summer 2014 magazine issue......My granddaughter, Sarah, and I designed a fun piece called "4 THE BIRDS"  If you don't have a subscription to that magazine you might want to run on over to their site and sign up.   I have an extra copy of the magazine, which I will be giving away........IF YOU ARE SIGNED UP TO BE ON MY EMAIL LIST AND YOU RESPOND TO THIS NOTICE.........your name will go into the hat for a free copy!   Deadline to respond is May 30th

LET'S STITCH -
I've been asked to do another summer sew in project.  Last year's project was the wool penny rug shown below.  Sign up before May 30th to get in on this year's project.  I will be sending out a pdf file packet to everyone that wants to play.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE if this summer isn't good for you, don't sign up.  Everyone will have only 1 week to complete a section and pass it along....and, at the end of the summer everyone's name will go into the bucket.  There will only be one winner.

The Wedding Day quilt was a big success in the Primitive Quilts and Projects Magazine last year.
I you haven't already made your own, here is a source for the background fabrics in a kit.  Her kit consists of lights and darks for the background.

                                         Kit source
Bonnie from Willow Wood Market Quilt Shop in Bemidji, MN is offering the fabrics for the background in a kit.

She also sells wool if your stash is small.  Give her a holler if you need the background fabrics.  As you can see in the picture, her background is both light/dark.

I don't stock pile wool, but do have scrap bags that work perfectly for this quilt.   If you are interested, please email me to see what's available and the price.  Thanks!

If you haven't signed up for the newsletter.....please click on the SIGN UP button at the top of this blog page and/or go to the website.  The sign up button is on the home page down at the bottom.  Everyone likes discounts.............sign up today!

Pictures are worth a thousand words.......

Good Morning!  Bad weather is every where these days and causing delays, but packages do arrive and happy winners send me pictures!

I was so excited to hear from Rhonda late yesterday afternoon.  Here's what she said,

"Received my "Be Mine" wool piece today!  I'm like a kid in a candy store.  Even though it never arrived before Valentines Day, it is okay because it is so Wonderful that I am putting it into our Master bedroom all year long.  After all I would like my hubby to "Be Mine" all year long.  Thank You again so much.  I took a picture with it so if you send me your email address, I will send the picture to you.  Blessings!!!!"

LOVE IN FEBRUARY

I remember as a child being taken to the store to buy valentine cards for all the kids in my class. Sharing valentines was always so much fun.  My Special Valentines have grown over the years from my school friends to my special guy of over 45 years, our two sons, their wives and all of our grand children and adopted ones!  Since February is the month for love, I designed this small piece with hearts and flowers for you to make for your home and/or to share with someone special.  It's called
B-Mine!

I chose to frame mine to hang over a blanket chest near the front door!  There are instructions in the pattern for framing this piece.

If you are a Back Door Friends Pattern Club member, watch your email box for a chance to win one as shown above - wool piece, background fabric, frame and shipping.

Kits are now available on the website, in the pantry, under kits for sale.  The kits are $11.95 and include everything to make the wool section in the middle - background fabric and frame not included.

A Place for Everything.........

and everything in it's place!  Run on over to the website http://www.primitivepiecesbylynda.com/catalog.php?category=14
A new Christmas Card holder to either hold cards before you get them sent out...or for all the fun ones you receive.
There is a pocket on the left hand side for a letter opener, or in my case a red handled butter knife.   There is also a pocket on the back to hold a pen.
Original wool supplies while they last, then substitutions will be made.
